Vehicle theft turns ugly as shootout ensues between suspects and CAP

ROSEBANK – Police are yet to confirm reports of a shootout between suspects and CAP Tactical officers on the intersection of Corlett Drive and Atholl Oaklands Road.

 

Two suspects have been arrested in Rosebank following a shootout earlier this evening.

This is according to Community Active Protection (CAP) who added that the two men stole a Toyota Tazz from Sturdee Avenue. The vehicle was tracked to the intersection of Corlett Drive and Atholl Oaklands Road.

Upon CAP’s arrival, they noticed one suspect inside the vehicle and two other men in another suspicious vehicle.

A shootout ensued between the three men and CAP. Two of the men fled the scene while the other was arrested.

One of the suspects was injured during the shootout. According to CAP, two of the suspects were handed over to the South African police.

The Rosebank Killarney Gazette is awaiting confirmation from the Rosebank Police Station.
