Two Parkview police officers awarded for their achievements at Gauteng Excellence Awards

PARKVIEW – Captain Tintswalo Sibeko and Captain Menzi Miya were first runners-up in their respective categories.

Two Parkview Police Station officers were first runners-up in their respective categories for the Gauteng Excellence Awards held on 25 August.

Captain Tintswalo Sibeko and Captain Menzi Miya were nominated as finalists in the Gauteng region. Sibeko was selected as a runner-up for the Administration Employee of the Year and Miya was a runner-up for the Detective Employee of the Year.

The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Deliwe de Lange said the event served as a motivation to the employees from various provinces as it encouraged constructive competition.

Metro police make 19 arrests

Sibeko told the Rosebank Gazette that officers throughout the province had applied to be considered in their respective categories based on their achievements. Three finalists from each category were then invited to the event where the winners and runners-up were announced.

Miya was selected for Detective Employee of the Year based on the number of arrests and convictions he had made while Sibeko was selected based on her internal administrative work as well as her work within the community.

Sibeko said, “I was so happy, there are no words to describe it, it was a really good motivation for the work that I do.”

The station’s commander Colonel Theledi Gopane congratulated the officers on their participation in the awards and contribution at the station.
