Parkview Police are searching for suspect after a man is hijacked in Parktown North

PARKTOWN NORTH – Another resident becomes a victim of hijacking.

A Parktown North resident was allegedly hijacked on 4 July at about 5.58pm as he was driving into his garage.

“The complainant said that he arrived home driving a Range Rover. He opened the gate and drove into the garage. While the gate was closing, he noticed a male carrying a firearm and the suspect ordered him to return to the car,” explained Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, spokesperson for Parkview Police Station.

Obeying the suspect, the victim moved to the passenger seat while the suspect drove the car out of the garage and stopped at the gate. Another suspect jumped into the car while at the gate.

“The car stopped again around the corner and the victim was instructed to sit at the back and lie down. The duo then picked up a third suspect. The suspects drove around for 20 minutes with the victim while busy taking out the tracking device,” added Sibeko.

The victim was told to close his eyes and then run to the left while suspects drove to the right. When he opened his eyes he noticed he was in Parkhurst. The suspects also allegedly stole cash, an iPhone, iPad, briefcase, sunglasses and clothes.
