DA member involved in heated exchange with security guard outside Gupta house
SAXONWOLD - DA member Ghaleb Cachalia got involved in a heated exchange with a security guard outside the Gupta house while trying to diffuse tension.
A member of the DA in Ekuruleni got in to a heated exchange with a security guard outside of the Gupta house in Saxonwold.
The incident occurred at about 10am on Tuesday morning when a few people had gathered outside the Gupta house in a peaceful protest.
Ghaleb Cachalia was allegedly intimidated by one of the bodyguards when he arrived. Cachalia said that he had heard about the small protest and decided to go there to show moral support.
“There were a bunch of body guards and one guy was standing in the middle. He was very glitchy and aggressive so I decided to greet him to diffuse the situation,” said Cachalia.
However Cachalia said that the guard got very aggressive and reached behind him to reach for his firearm. “He said I’m a threat and I said to him how am I being a threat?’’
According a video that has surfaced of the incident the bodyguard swore at Cachalia before saying they [the protesters] should go away because he didn’t want to talk to them.

Peaceful protesters have been gathered outside of the Gupta house since Monday morning to protest their alleged involvement with Jacob Zuma.
