The highly-anticipated new Afrikaans action movie, Jagveld, wrapped up its nationwide tour with a special outdoor screening of the film at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on 18 March

Written by renowned master of the thriller genre, Deon Meyer, the film stars Leandie du Randt Bosch and Tim Theron. This unique movie experience coincided with the film’s release date at cinemas nationwide on 17 March. This year, the bizhub Highveld Lions cricket players, Rassie van der Dussen, Dominic Hendricks and Nicky van den Bergh, among others, joined fans for the unique sit-down screening.

Chief executive officer of the Gauteng Cricket Board, Greg Fredericks, said of the event, “The bizhub Highveld Lions has been the official team representing Johannesburg for the past 14 years. We are in the process of activating more and more commercial projects to prove that the home of the Lions, Bidvest Wanderers, is not only a world-class cricket stadium, but that it is also ideal for office space or any size event.

“The partnership with Times Media Films is exciting, seeing that we can now embark on projects strengthening both brands.”

Jagveld takes the action genre to new heights, establishing a unique and suspenseful new entry in the South African movie scene. This exciting film hits the screen with impact – delivering elements of the suspense genre with the support of atmospheric cinematography, eerily quiet locations in the Karoo and a strong local cast in standout roles.

Cricket fans and other movie buffs across the country can now meet the stars on the Jagveld tour to find out what it takes to produce such a nail-biting action movie.

Jagveld is a Karoo Film Company production in co-operation with KykNET Films and Times Media Films.
