Prestigious win for Parkview golfers
PARKVIEW – Four golfers celebrate their big win.
Parkview golfers Terry Eaton, Phil Tanner, Paul Henry and Terry Hinton won the Parkview Golf Club’s prestigious Dave Symons Trophy.
The foursome won with 93 Stableford points ahead of runners-up, Alan Little, Steve McWade, Peter Owen and Dave Roberts on 92.
The competition commemorates former Springbok golfer, Dave Symons. He joined Parkview in 1953 and was the club champion on no fewer than 16 occasions. He also won one of the club’s four major competitions for five successive decades. He represented South Africa 15 times and won the SA Amateur Championship in 1967.
