Rosebank police join forces with security companies against drug scourge

ROSEBANK – Random stop and searches leads to arrests of suspects in connection with drugs and theft.

 

Rosebank police and private security companies including ADT Security, 24/7, Core Tactical, CSS and CAP joined forces on Thursday, 9 February to fight against drugs and other crimes.

Random stop and searches were carried out in the area, which led to ADT successfully apprehending two suspects for dagga dealing and theft.

ADT community development manager, Sam Cretten, specifically highlighted the joint efforts of Sergeant Mdletshe from Rosebank Police Station and ADT officers, Zenzele Ndlovu, Tebogo Tlatla and Matome Marema. “These officers must be commended for their highly professional work ethic and excellent arrests,” said Cretten.

Earlier this month, Rosebank police and the private security companies were successful in targeting the parks in the Rosebank area. “We believe that through confiscating drugs and just generally increasing a security presence we can curb greater criminal incidents from taking place in the area,” concluded Cretten.
