Ward 117 to vote for a new committee

PARKHURST – Registered voters to cast their vote for new ward committee members.

 

Ward 117 residents will cast their votes on 4 February for a new ward committee.

According to Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck, only 10 candidates from the ward are elected to make up the committee. These committee members act as facilitators between the City and the community.

A total of 16 residents have availed themselves to be part of the new committee in Ward 117 and they will be responsible for their canvassing. The committee is non-political, therefore, there will be no political party campaigning.

Only residents who are registered to vote will be eligible for voting. They will need their identity document.

Voting will take place at Parkhurst Primary School on the corner of 15th Street and 3rd Avenue from 8am to 5pm.

Contested portfolios include housing, environment, economic development, community development and health.
