Free Wi-Fi at George Hay Park

Parkview – An ISP installs free Wi-Fi at the park...

An Internet service provider has installed free fibre Wi-Fi at George Hay Park as a token of appreciation for the huge support received from a number of Parkview residents.

Cool Ideas, a company which has been running for more than five years said the Wi-Fi would be a permanent service without any usage limitations available daily between 6am to 7pm.

“It’s only been up for a few days and as people get more aware of it, we expect the numbers to increase,” said Paul Butschi, the co-founder of the business.

“On the first day, we already had about six or seven people who were using the Wi-Fi.”

The company which was one of the first to supply services as a fibre-to-home Internet service provider in Parkhurst said it had connected a number of schools to the Internet free of charge.

“We have done about 20 schools including Parkhurst Primary, Greenside High and Parkview Senior School,” said Shane Gibbs, the company’s sales manager.

“Each school receives a gig and they use it as they will. It’s uncapped.”
