Roedean School in Houghton is in a celebratory mood with the school achieving a 100 per cent pass rate and a 100 per cent bachelor degree pass into university.
A total of 307 distinctions were achieved by 80 schoolgirls, with an average of 3.8 distinctions achieved per candidate. Priyanka Nair, one of the top achievers in the school, was ranked in the top five per cent of IEB school-goers in five or more subjects; while Laura Robinson was ranked in the top five per cent of IEB participants in six or more subjects.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our students on their outstanding results. You have every reason to be delighted that your diligence and your willingness to learn have reaped the rewards that so many of you deserve. Results of this calibre are also testimony to the quality of the teaching from which so many of you have benefitted,” said Mary Williams, executive headmistress of the school.
Williams extended her thanks to all the teachers for their commitment and expertise which have enabled the schoolgirls to begin a new and exciting journey of exploration to achieve their dreams and aspirations. Ama Adu received nine distinctions.
