A magical night to remember

WANDERERS – Carols by candlelight draws crowds and sees many gifts for the underprivileged donated.

 

Jacaranda FM and Spar Carols by Candlelight held at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium proved to be a huge success on 3 December with thousands in attendance.

A star-studded line-up of singers entertained the crowds and included former Idols SA runner-up Lloyd Cele, as well as Richard Stirton, Ross from Prime Circle, Kahn from The Parlotones, Charlize Berg and the 2007 Grammy Award-winner, The Soweto Gospel Choir.

Brescia House School’s IP Choir also made an appearance during the show and serenaded all present with carols.

Piet van Vuuren, inland promotions and advertising manager of Spar, said the retail chain company became part of the event to give back to the community. “We have been involved for more than 15 years now,” he said.

“Every year it’s always fantastic and this year we have managed to raise more than 240 boxes of gifts.”

The amount raised this year totalled more than R70 000 and all toys collected will be delivered to the three selected charity organisations including Child Welfare Tshwane, Heartbeat and Hanna Charities.
