Loud bang precedes fire

ROSEBANK – A fire at an office park stirs police to action.

A fire broke out at around 11am on 13 August at Rosebank Terrace North, an office building on Sturdee Avenue.

The building which is nearby Rosebank Police Station attracted the atttention of officers on duty. According to a security guard who was on duty at one of the building close by at the time, the fire was preceded by a loud “bang”.

The guard said the police called the fire department to the scene, who came to scene in minutes. He also said the fire lasted no longer than 30 minutes.

Rosebank Killarney Gazette reader, Melissa Smith posted a video of the building engulfed in smoke, while firefighters were trying to douse the flames.

Both the spokespersons for the Rosebank Fire Station and Police station were unavailable for comment at the time of print.
