Commander Thembekile Kubone and Major Sandile Mkhize of Parkview Police Station successfully arrested one suspect recently who was found in possession of stolen items and car-jamming devices.
According to Mkhize, the two were patrolling in Parkview at the time they made the arrest. “We noticed a suspicious male driving down Orange Road and we then asked him to stop,” he explained.
Mkhize added that upon searching the suspect and the vehicle, they found car-jamming devices as well as suspected stolen goods.
The suspect has since appeared at Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court, but the case was postponed for further investigation.
“We are urging our community members to remain vigilant when locking their cars at shopping malls. Please physically check that your car is locked upon pressing your remote and only then walk away from your car,” he urged.
