Competition time at Whisper Poetry

JOHANNESBURG – Whisper Poetry is calling on primary school and high school students to submit works for their annual art and literature competition.

Whisper Poetry is a poetry group for adults and children who are dedicated to bringing the beauty of the arts to the public. The group hosts annual literature and art competitions for adults and students, to encourage people to share their work and win amazing prizes.

The group is encouraging students to enter pieces of work into the following categories:

Poetry – which is limited to 32 lines

Short stories – which are limited to 2 000 words

Art – which is limited to A4 and A3 sizes

Photography – in which electronic copies are accepted.

The teacher responsible for the most entries for their school will also win a fantastic cash prize. At the end of all the excitement, a book of verse and short stories will be published and all the entrants are welcome to have their work included.

A CD and DVD with all the art and photographic entries will also be made, and entrants are encouraged to let their work be featured.

Entries for the Whisper Poetry’s art and literature competition close on 30 September.
