Easter Rugby Festival kicks Off at St John’s College

HOUGHTON – The St John’s College Easter Rugby Festival kicked off on the morning of 24 March with some of the best rugby schools in the country set to battle it out on the sports field.

The college is hosting 12 top schoolboy rugby sides at the festival from 24 to 28 March.

The first team rugby matches will start at 12.15pm with Paarl Boys vs the Lions starting proceedings. Preparatory matches will start at 8.15am with St David’s vs St Benedict’s first up followed by Pridwin vs Cordwalles.

Participating first team rugby schools include: Affies, Paarl Boys, Helpmekaar, Parktown Boys, Hilton, Paul Roos, Lions, St John’s (Harare), Monument, St John’s College (JHB), Nelspruit and Viadana.

Preparatory participating teams include: Clifton (DBN), St David’s, Clifton (NR), St John’s, Cordwalles, St Peter’s, Orchards , St Stithians, Pridwin, The Ridge, St Benedict’s, Virginia, St Charles and WHPS.

Tickets are available from the school. Those wanting to attend must note that this will be a ‘cashless’ festival for safety reasons.
