WATCH: Wits on the hunt for premiership title

JOBURG - Bidvest Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, believes his team has the potential to win the Absa Premiership League title, despite his team facing a tough schedule ahead.

Speaking to reporters at the Bidvest Stadium, Hunt said he considers his team as title contenders as they are sitting on top with 26 points in 12 games.

“I mean we’re sitting pretty at the top with 26 points and we got ourselves into that position. When we start playing in January, February, in the CAF and Nedbank, our squad will get better,” said Hunt.

Wits will resume the new year with a trip down to the Eastern Cape to take on Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Stadium on 10 January.

In a bid to bolster their title credentials, Wits acquired the services of former Portsmouth striker James Keene, the 30-year-old striker who impressed Hunt during some of his games.
