Craighall Park Bowling Club to re-launch

CRAIGHALL PARK - The Craighall Bowling Club will launch its official sports club on 24 October.

The newly-revamped Craighall Bowling Club will hold its official launch on 24 October.

It promises to be a fun and entertaining day for the whole family starting from 8.30am and ending at 12.30pm. There will be demonstrations of the sports on offer at the club, namely karate, tennis, ballet, modern and tap dancing, little kicker classes, pilates, bowls, a soccer clinic for boys and girls, and children’s engineering workshops.

“The launch of the club is a good thing as residents can come together,” said Anthony Still, Ward 90 councillor.

“It is also great to see the club’s turnaround from the previous mess.”

Els Karate, owned by Andrew Els, will be hosting a ton of exciting activities on the day. Attendees are asked to dress like their favourite action heroes (or make up their own hero) and challenge others on the day. People can be challenged in wrestling, speed racing, obstacle courses, boxing, sword fighting, an ice challenge, takedown, arm wrestling, water pistol shootout, sumo wrestling, climb challenge, tug of war, fight challenge, a giant ball challenge as well as a hardest punch competition.

“It is going to be a happy morning for everyone; it is the culmination of many years,” said Paulette Malcolm, a member of Craighall Residents’ Association.

“This is [testament to] everyone who contributed towards making the club what it is now.”

A country market will also be introduced at the club and will be held every Saturday. Community members can set up their own stalls by contacting Malcolm.
