City of Joburg then replied, asking who came to the house.

Govender then stated via the twitter thread that JMPD and media have  been to her house looking for Clive Naidoo.

According to a report on IOL, Clive Naidoo took to twitter on Tuesday night to apologise for his behaviour in the video.

He tweeted, “South Africa, I’m sorry!”

The report further stated that Naidoo tweeted, “Hi guys, please respect me. The officer went too far. I was wrong too, but enough.”

UPDATE: 1 September 2015, 11:30am –  Superintendent Wayne Minnaar of JMPD has spoken out about the incident between a motorist and a JMPD officer that was caught on camera.

Minnaar said, “Firstly, when a motorist is stopped by a metro police officer and issued a fine, the motorist should under no circumstances argue with the officer on duty. The motorist should just accept the fine. If the motorist feels that the fine was issued unjustly, they can go contest the fine or request a cancelation thereof at any of the Metro police traffic offices.”

INITIAL REPORT: 31 August 2015, 8pm – A Facebook video emerged on Friday, 28 August 2015, of a motorist and a JMPD officer arguing over an issuing of a traffic fine for shooting a red robot.

Clive Naidoo posted the footage of the exchange on his Facebook profile.(Scroll down to watch the video.)

He also posted the following:

On Friday 28 August 2015 approximately 08h45 at the intersection Bram Fischer Drive and Jan Smuts Ave, I was pulled over by a polite female JMPD officer who went and checked my licence disk then came to my window and greeted and I gave her my drives licence, at that stage another very abrupt and arrogant female JMPD officer barged in saying “you got 4 eyes can’t you see you shot the robot”, I replied “ sorry, I got 2 eyes and a pair of glasses and might be you got four eyes”. At that stage she grabbed my drives licence from the other officer and went to get a fine book. I realised that this was not going to look good so at that stage I started recording the conversation, watch what transpired. Take note that I was on the right lane, cars in front and taxi on left. The taxi was pulled over and was sent off, including cars in front and rear, the traffic lights were green and with many taxi’s been pulled over everyone had to drive slow to avoid bumping into another and yes I was angry as I did not drive through the red traffic lights as accused. My personal details revealed in the video, do apologise I could not block it out however I want to expose the incident. Please let me know how you feel after watching the clip and please send me email addresses of who I can raise this with. Please share.

What are your thoughts on the footage? Do you think the officer was just doing her job?
