Rosebank police share information on how to open a case

ROSEBANK –The Rosebank Client Services would like to inform the community that the following documents would be needed to open a case at the police station.

Have you ever gone to a police station to report a matter, but later realised that you did not have all the relevant documents?

Rosebank Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe advised that should a person go to client services at a police station they will be asked for details of the crime by a police officer.

“A description of the suspect should be given to the officer, if possible, as this information will definitely help with the investigation,” said Mdletshe.

For a theft of motor vehicle case:

  • Bring the papers for the vehicle
  • A car key to show that the car was stolen and that you are still in possession of the original key.

To report an accident with no injuries or deaths:

  • Bring the details of the parties involved in the accident
  • Where the accident took place; the street corners are important
  • Time and date.

To report a stolen or lost phone:

  • Have the ITC number of the phone, which is given by the network provider.

Mdletshe would like the community to know that should they be lost, they can utilise the client services desk service at the police station to ask for directions.

Details: Rosebank Police Station 011 778 4700.
