Children reminded of good behaviour and safety

DUNKELD - BEHAVE and stay safe, was the message Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe conveyed to foundation phase pupils at the Vuleka St Martin's School in Dunkeld.

Mdletshe, spokesperson for the Rosebank Police Station made his annual visit to junior pupils aged between five and nine years old at the school.

The children were briefed and reminded on the basics of safety and good behaviour before they were treated to Easter eggs.

In an interactive presentation, Mdletshe impressed upon the pupils the importance of not playing on the streets at night, not being coerced by strangers and watching out for cars before crossing the road.

Mdletshe also reminded the children that taking things they knew did not belong to them constituted stealing. He indicated that he wanted the children to grow up to become good, productive members of society.

The group of attentive pupils promised to respect their teachers and parents, and were reminded by the staff at Vuleka to courteously thank Mdletshe for their chocolate treats.
