Superb job by Parkview Police Station

CRAIGHALL - Two male suspects aged 27 and 28 were arrested for robbery at Vicky Cristina's, a restaurant in a local shopping Centre in Craighall Park.

According to Parkview police spokesperson Lloyd Ramavho, the robbery occurred on 13 January just before 9am.

“He just appeared at the restaurant requesting for his payslips. He came while I was upstairs, and when I was done with what I was doing I went downstairs to assist him in the office,” explained Bernard Gasser, owner of the restaurant.

“The suspects allegedly tied the victim to a chair and pointed a gun at him requesting for his bank card pin,” explained Ramovha.

Bernard was robbed of R2 000 cash and R3 000 from his bank account, as well as a laptop, cellphone and a camera, which the Parkview police later retrieved from the suspects’ car.

“They took about R2 000 in cash and money from my bank account,” explained Gasser.

“The Parkview police did a great job tracking them [suspects] down,”said Gasser.

The suspects were both known to the victim.

Prompt investigations by Parkview police (Captain Sandile Mkhize and Constable Lori Makhudu) led to the arrest of the two suspects as well as the recovery of the stolen items.

The suspects are currently detained and will appear at Johannesburg Magistrates’ court soon.
