Police seek hijack suspects

HILLBROW – Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly hijacked a vehicle that was found parked in Hillbrow.

Police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo said the owner of the vehicle had been ordered at gunpoint to get out of his vehicle in Kensington by two men.

“The suspects drove away with the vehicle which had his personal belongings, including a laptop, wallet and cellphone inside,” he said.

Zondo said the vehicle was later spotted by police parked close to the intersection of Klein and Pietersen streets. “It was just parked and locked, however the owners’ possessions that were inside the vehicle were not recovered. The owner was called to the scene and identified the BMW 1 Series,” said Zondo.

Police appealed to anyone who may have information to contact them.
