Hope School pupils receive new buses

WESTCLIFF - Airports Company South Africa handed over two Toyota Quantam buses to Hope School in Westcliff.

The buses will ensure the school continues to provide holistic solutions for the children with physical disabilities in and around Johannesburg.

Company spokesperson Unathi Batyashe Fillis said,”Children are the future of our country and we recognise how important it is for them to get to school on time – and safely. For this reason, Airports Company South Africa has gone out of its way to give Hope School these two fitted Quantaum buses.”

The company has been involved with the school for a number of years through wheelchair tennis and its Wheelchair Donation Programme. Through its on-going corporate sponsorship initiatives, the company has been able to address the needs of learners through custom-made wheelchairs, helping them grow in confidence, gain a measure of independence and reach their full potential.

School fundraising manager Ingrid Middleton-Vey said, “Without these buses, our learners would not be in a position to attend Hope School. With their disabilities, they cannot always make use of public transport (…) they may have to walk to a taxi rank or bus stop, and considering that some of their parents are not in a position to transport their children, Hope School has to provide assistance with transport.”
