Watch: Road worker’s dance moves leave motorists smiling

South Africans continue to find joy in the little things, as a Cape Town road worker's passionate dance moves prove.

Footage of a road worker in the Western Cape delighting motorists with his brilliant dance moves has gone viral.

TikTok user @fazjaftha recently shared a video of an unidentified man working on the iconic Chapman’s Peak drive, between Hout Bay and Noordhoek in Cape Town.

The heartwarming video, which has been watched nearly 650 000 times, shows the man’s infectious smile and happy moves at a stop-and-go. When motorists’ journeys are delayed by roadworks, they usually get hot under the collar, but thanks to the  ‘roadside rhythm king’, they had reason to smile.

Fellow user @Grimaldi dubbed the man ‘Cape Town Stress Relieving Official’, with user @Mosh_Mommy replying to the comment that the man must be ‘appointed with immediate effect’.

@Riekie82 lauded his effort to put a smile on people’s faces: “Life is so full of negative things. That guy doesn’t know how many smiles he puts on people’s faces each day. Maybe turned a bad day into a good one. Love it🥰🥰🥰[sic].”
