Organisation feeds the homeless

Ogle Foundation makes a difference to the homeless on Mandela Day.

The Ogle Foundation took to the streets of Roodepoort once again to make a difference in the lives of the homeless, but this time for Nelson Mandela.

The foundation has been in existence since 2016, and they have committed themselves to feeding the homeless, providing previously loved items to the less fortunate, and providing sanitary towels to young girls in schools.

According to Patty Ogle, they managed to feed about 75 individuals – who were rushing to work in the morning – at Harry Brown Park, and about 200 more people came after that.

Patty says they are trying to fill in the gap, but the more they fill, the more it becomes wider, and she wishes her initiative could receive support and reach more people.

“I had planned for a total of 150, but there are some people who didn’t get food today because it wasn’t enough for everyone. I wish to encourage everyone to stand up and make a difference, even if they do it on a day like this.

“We are desperately in need of men’s clothing and more sanitary towels for our girls.”
