Miss Bachelorette South Africa finalist is excited to reach more young people through pageantry.

The Miss Bachelorette South Africa is a pageant that focuses on women’s empowerment and fighting gender-based violence.

For this reason Roodepoort resident, Nteboheleng Motseke, entered the pageant, her goal being to reach more people, with the tools she learned from the pageant. As an educator, she noticed the need among young people to find a place to belong.

“Because of the purpose behind the pageant, I felt that it is a good platform to be able to reach more young people, I’m more passionate about touching more young people. I’m an educator, so I have seen the need for support and mentoring of young girls and boys justifying themselves and to be able to see that they are individuals that belong and can make a difference,” stated Nteboheleng.

The contestants all had to go through a series of tests to become finalists. These included being more active on social media to promote Miss Bachelorette South Africa, to be good ambassadors in their daily lives, and take part in the current queen’s tasks and charities, and interviews.

Currently, Nteboheleng is involved in helping the Rainbow Home, which offers help to the impoverished, and her profession as an educator offers support to young people. Regarding charity, Nteboheleng feels it is about giving knowledge and skills to others to sustain themselves.

About being a finalist Nteboheleng feels excited, despite the challenges it holds, she has learned about herself and looks forward to what the future holds.

Nteboheleng wants women to know, “That it’s okay to be at a certain age and not have kids and not be married, which is one of the things that are highlighted in this pageant, it does not make you less of a woman … I want the readers to know that it’s very important for us to support one another because we don’t know where the next person comes from … and that there are things like pageantry that can make a difference in society.”
