Conquering fear to achieve success

The 25-year-old model and pageant contestant explained that she became involved in pageantry to get out of her comfort zone and build up her confidence

“Success is what waits on the other side of fear.” This is what Miss Grand South Africa finalist Lerato Maponya stands by.

The 25-year-old model and pageant contestant explained that she became involved in pageantry to get out of her comfort zone and build up her confidence.

“When I attended Maragon I entered the Mr & Miss Maragon competition four times. The first three times I didn’t make it, but the fourth time I was crowned Miss Maragon,” Lerato explained. She added that persistence and perseverance are key to reaching your goal in life. “Always try for the yes.”

Lerato has always been a strong believer in giving back to the community and creating a better world for future organisations. She hopes to use this platform to raise awareness about the struggles that the less-privileged communities in South Africa are facing. “I plan to do a charity drive to collect and distribute sanitary products to those in need,” she concluded.
