On a mission to realise their vision

“We are looking for more donations. We call on anyone who can donate winter clothes for the children to contact us”

Two men are on a mission to feed and help children from impoverished informal settlements throughout Muldersdrift.

Eduard Ellis, who works with the Dithupe’s Foundation that provides nutritious meals to hundreds of children from 22 early childhood development centres in the Video informal settlement, and Falcon Newman, a missionary and evangelist, met through the work they do.

“We started over a year ago with donations from Falcon’s church and what I receive from Pick n Pay. Since then we have been able to feed 900 children within the area,” said Eduard.

These men not only focus on feeding an empty stomach; the nutritional value of the meals are also important to them because a child’s brain needs proper nutrients to grow and develop.

On 12 May, Jacaranda FM donated R20 000 to them after they had written to the station’s Good Morning Angels together with Breakfast with Martin Bester. William Tshuma who works with Eduard and Falcon said with the money they will be able to do more.

Considering that winter is upon us, it is difficult for some children to keep warm. William urged those who can to come forward to help them with winter clothing.

“We are looking for more donations. We call on anyone who can donate winter clothes for the children to contact us,” William told the News.

If you would like to donate, call Falcon on 073 300 1990.
