Valentine’s picnic under the stars

The Valentine's Day Picnic can also be a family outing to enjoy the serene outdoors with loved ones on this special day.

The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden will be hosting the much-anticipated Valentine’s Day Picnic under the stars on Friday, 14 February at 6pm.

The event promises to celebrate romantic love, making it a popular love affair for couples to spend the day together in the magnificent outdoors for a special romantic picnic.

Valentine’s Day is traditionally associated with red hearts, romance, flowers, candy or other sweet things, and the exchange of cards, called valentines, that express love.

“Imagine the stars shining on a cool evening and you and your better half relaxing under a tree rekindling your relationship. The only sound you hear is music celebrating love echoing through the garden,” said Principal Officer of Marketing and Communications, Ronny Tshabalala.

Chris de Burgh, Teddy Pendergrass, Barry White, The Bee Gees, Julio Iglesias, Celine Dion and Marvin Gaye will serenade couples while they have a fun outing with their loved ones.

The Valentine’s Day Picnic can also be a family outing to enjoy the serene outdoors with loved ones on this special day.

Bring your picnic baskets, and enjoy love-themed music and the exquisite outdoors. There are prizes to be won, including a night at one of the top-class local guesthouses.

Costs for adults and pensioners are R60, students R50, scholars R25 and for children under six years entrance is free.
