Show-stoppers deluxe at the first-ever Welties Got Talent

The acts on display gave their all but the hardest job on the night belonged to the judges who had the painstaking task of picking a winner

Glitz, glamour and most importantly, talent, were in overwhelming abundance at Weltevreden Park Primary School as they hosted their first-ever Welties Got Talent in spectacular fashion on Thursday, 21 November.

The school’s best singers, dancers, magicians and comics conquered their nerves and delivered a show-stopping extravaganza of artistry. The array of performers showcased the school’s diverse depth of spirit and culture representative of South Africa’s own rich tapestry. With the future stars on the stage there was plenty star power on the judges panel too. Special guest judge was former Weltevreden Park Primary and current lead singer of Rubber Duc, Nick Jordaan. “I am excited about the future stars of South Africa and I think a few of them will come from Weltevreden Park Primary,” gushed Nick.

The school seldom holds back when putting on an event and Thursday was no different. Principal James van Dyk was in great spirits as he celebrated the big night boasting, ”This is why I am so proud to be principal of this beautiful and wonderful school. Absolutely amazing talent, what can I say, Welties is the best school in the West.”
