Roodepoort’s Disciples release their first single

The group hopes to bring love and unity through their music

Ofentse Sebolai, Austin Ndukaku and Chimezie Ogbonna formed an Afro-pop hip hop music group in March this year, and celebrated with their first performance in June.

“Realising the talent that God gave us, we decided this year to form the group named The Disciples to help uplift people and to be the motivation to not give up no matter the situation, through our music. We chose the name because of the disciples in the Bible; they’re the bearers of good news, so that inspired us, because our music uplifts the spirit,” they explained.

The group has already tasted some success since they came together this year, and have performed at a range of events, including The Box Shop, in Maboneng at Extreme Shakers, at the After Party Lounge and in Balfour Park at Rush Hour.

The group hopes to bring love and unity through performing their music, and believes in unity, strength and diversity. The group is looking to one day make a change in the world, and possibly becoming a global icon, with their music and their unique style.
