DJ Slago initiates Roodies Project
As part of establishing the Roodies brand the young DJ is planning to do some charity events at local charities and some awareness campaigns for the community as a whole.
Lucky Ngakane, aka DJ Slago, is taking the entertainment business by storm.
DJ Slago grew up in Dobsonville and later moved to Tshepisong, where he began his career as a DJ in 2004, under the mentorship of the late DJ Khulez.
The talkative disc jockey said, “I am a music loving person that likes listening to celebrity DJs like DJ Fresh and the others. When I fell in love with music, I did not know it was something that was going to put food on the table.”
DJ Slago started playing in 2008 and is currently the resident DJ at the Cornerstone Pub in Roodepoort.
Currently he is busy with a project called Roodies, that is aimed at reviving and injecting some life in the social space and entertainment of the West Rand.
He said, “This new project is something for the community of Roodepoort to be proud of. I am hoping to get some investors on board so that this positive initiative can be a success.”

When asked about the future, DJ Slago did not hesitate to indicate his eagerness to grow his brand and have a regular slot on one of Johannesburg’s radio stations.
