Fear the Halloween night

HONEYDEW – Come dressed to the tee with another Fear the Night Halloween Run.

People who want to celebrate Halloween can do this with a very exciting event that not only guarantees to give you a Halloween fright but will also be good exercise.

The Fear the Night Halloween Run will take place at the Jackal Creek Golf Estate on 29 October. Corné van Zyl, one of the organisers explained that a 1.5km walk will start at 6pm where people will walk a designated route. “This is such a big event for the family,” said Van Zyl. He added that about 30 people have been arranged to hide away on the route to give participants a well-fitted Halloween scare.

“People can decide to do another loop once the first 1.5km walk is over.” Registration for the walk starts from 4.45pm to 5.45pm. For the fitter among us, there will be a night run on the same 1.5km route. This race’s registration starts at 6.15pm with the race starting at 7pm. It is the runner’s goal to see how many laps they can complete within 45 minutes.

On this route, participants can also expect to be frightened in good fun with zombies, haunted houses and much more. No U13’s are allowed to take part in the night run but are more than welcome to participate in the walk.

For the children, there will be a fashion show, a creepy crawly show with snakes, and Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance competition. After the night race, people can look forward to a fire breathing show.

Van Zyl urged people to come dressed up in their best Halloween costumes. “Everyone dresses up and they go through a lot of trouble.” Van Zyl added that Hollywood Costumes will have a stall, where people can get the chance to dress up. “We have also organised make-up artists that can make you look Halloween-ready,” concluded Van Zyl.

Tickets for the day race are from R85 and can be booked through webtickets.co.za
