Did you watch the Olympic Games?

There is a lighter atmosphere everywhere we go, now that the elections are over.

People seem to be more relaxed, but we are all waiting to see what happens, since neither the DA nor the ANC won a majority vote in Johannesburg. We are trying to find out from the powers that be exactly what the future holds for Roodepoort residents, and will keep you updated.

This was a very important election. Given that the ruling party did not fare very well, they will most likely step up their game in order to gain the voters’ trust, and the opposition party will step up to get more support. Maybe this is what we need to get this lovely country back on track again.

Even nature seems to be relieved. The weather, I think, is definitely changing. We are enjoying warmer days, although the nights are still cold, and the birds are chirping again. I’ve really had enough of winter, and can’t wait for summer to arrive in full force – I don’t function well in cold weather.

The Olympic Games is a welcome reprieve from all the election tension and although I am not a huge sports fan, I try to stay updated about what is happening in Rio.

Let us know what you think the highlights of the Olympic Games have been so far.

Until next week, enjoy the warmer day and be kind to one another.
Ciao
