Mystic India is unveiled in a spectacle of dance and music. The world tour of this dance extravaganza comes to The Teatro at Montecasino from 29 April to 1 May.
At a special showing on 26 April, audiences were dazzled with an explosion of colour and culture. From a 5000-year-old religion to one of the biggest film industries in the world, Bollywood, Mystic India takes you on a journey of discovery of one of the most fascinating cultures.
A tongue-in-cheek narrator is your tour guide of the gem of the east, regaling audiences with tales of India’s rich history, the many who tried to conquer it and its deep and arcane spirituality, while an array of talented dancers bring each tale to life. From the beautiful love story of Radha and Lord Krishna to the battlefields of Akbar the Great; from the streets of the unique villages to the sets of a Bollywood movie – Mystic India leads the audience on an unforgettable tour of incredible India.
The costumes were simply stunning, and the choreography energetic even when you realise that there was a common element to the sequences. One was left breathless with the bursts of colour, elaborate sets and toe-tapping music. It truly provided a feast for the eye and one could not help but wish to be part of the Bollywood splendour.
“It was an enjoyable show and the dancing is great,”said theatre-goer Dhiraj Lela.
While the show did deliver, the acrobats and the aerialists, who were also punted as part of the programme, was missed.
