WELTEVREDEN PARK–Popular actress Nadia Beukes explores a number of professions in the entertainment industry.
Actress and TV presenter Nadia Beukes has been in the entertainment industry since 2004. Her passion has led her to explore a number of different professions in the industry.
The Weltevreden Park resident said her first job in the entertainment industry was when she participated in a music reality show in 2003. She started working as a part-time television presenter while studying for her honours in advertising at the University of Johannesburg.
“I’ve been blessed to get opportunities in film, musical theatre and television productions. Most recently I hosted a show called Boer soek ‘n vrou from 2014 to 2015. I also made an appearance on 7de Laan and Binnelanders,” she said.
Beukes added that she stars in the popular series Getroud met Rugby, a soapie on Kyk Net. In the show she plays a sports psychologist named ‘Iva Muller’.
“I play quite a moral character who is sensitive and emotionally connected with the people around her. I enjoy the great quality of the production from the storyline and the talented actors to the attention to details by the make–up artists and wardrobe team.
“We shoot from Mondays to Saturdays from 7am to 7pm, depending on the storyline and schedule of the technical team at the time,” Beukes added.
Besides being an accomplished actress, in her spare time Beukes enjoys singing She was recently involved in the Woordfees festival in Stellenbosch.
“I also recently got engaged so in my free time I’m in the process of planning my wedding. I also love spending time with my friends and family,” concluded Beukes.
