Singer Elizabeth Fourie, well known for her children’s songs just released a CD and DVD for children called Sing en Speel.
Publicist Lydia Winchester said that a concert to launch the CD and DVD took place at Laerskool Muldersdrift on 25 March.
“Pupils from Laerskool Muldersdrift had the opportunity to be part of the DVD recordings last year. The hall was full of excited children and their parents, who were the first ones to listen to the new songs. The Grade 1s got the opportunity to sing with Fourie during the hour-long show, which was also enjoyed by the senior pupils. The DVD has a lot of colourful pictures and contagious rhythms,” explained Winchester.
She added that so far the response from pupils has been very good and positive.
Fourie said that it is a big test to release a new album to an audience who are children. They are very honest and if they do not like it then they will not respond and listen to it further.
“I now know that the DVD did very well and therefore passed the test. I am very excited and proud of it,” expressed Fourie.
Winchester said that the Sing en Speel CD and DVD will be available in stores from April and can also be ordered online. If schools would like Fourie to perform they can contact Winchester.
