WELTEVREDEN PARK - The library in Weltevreden Park aim to entertain children this holiday.

With Easter Weekend fast approaching on 25 till 28 March and it being in the midst of the school’s holiday many parents have no idea how to keep their children busy.

The Weltevreden Park Library combined the two holidays and entertained children on 23 March at the library with an Easter Craft session where children had an opportunity to make Easter cards, Easter baskets and Easter bunnies using empty toilet paper holders and cotton wool.

On arriving at the library the children met with head librarian Sandy Visser. They sang songs and acted out the moves. Visser got all the children active and started to do a few exercises. Even the shy children quickly participated when Visser introduced a game of Simon says. All the children got comfortable with each other and quickly made new friends as they raced with each other to find a spot at a craft table.

When Visser asked what the rules of the library are many eager children jumped up saying that one should have fun and be creative. They coloured pictures in with chocolate eggs and bunnies on them but never forget what the true meaning of Easter is. The Weltevreden Park Library will be hosting an Easter egg hunt on 30 March.
