Alice Art Gallery welcomes the public for a memorable weekend

RUIMSIG – Artist Michael Heyns turns 70 on the same day he will exhibit his work at the Alice Art Gallery.

The Alice Art Gallery in Ruimsig has an exciting weekend planned – art lovers will get the opportunity to see artist Michael Heyns’ popular work on display on 27 February.

Gallery owner Alice Pitzer said, “Heyns, who is our bestselling artist, will have a walk about from 11am where the public is welcome to ask him questions about his art pieces. He will also be celebrating his 70th birthday on the same day. It is truly a privilege to have an artist who at his age, is still a part of the Alice Art Gallery.”

She added that Argentinian dancers will be there to entertain and teach people how to do the tango at 12pm on 28 February.

Artist Heyns said that he recently turned 70 and thus, carefully selected 70 works for this exhibition. “To be creative, I need to feel the joy of everything around me of who I am. It is untranslatable only in it’s visual form,” commented Heyns.
