JHB - Great offers at the Travel expo 2016.

The Flight Centre hosted the Travel Expo at TicketPro Dome on 6 and 7 February. The expo has been running since 2004, first at the Sandton Convention Centre, and then at the TicketPro Dome from 2013.

Managing director of Flight Centre, Andrew Stark said that the expo gathers different organisations from the travel and retail industries in the same place to offer people travel-savings options. Flight Centre does not make a profit from the expo but charges the 120 exhibitors’ stalls an affordable pay rate.

“The Travel Expo has grown since it was established, we offer more travel closer to home, stick to the same exhibitors and add more each year. Over 60 000 organisations from the travel and retail industries signed up this year. We are the only travel agency that puts together a project of this magnitude in South Africa,” said Stark.

He added that they measure the expo’s success by pre–registration figures, attendance, feedback from suppliers and the number of people who signed up for the travel specials.

Accounts manager for Kulula Flights, Bridget Holiday said that everyone was happy with their flying prices and that there is a huge interest in travelling to Cape Town, Durban and George.

Air Mauritius sales and marketing manager, Wouter Nel said that Mauritius is a popular holiday destination, and he offered several specials to Mauritius at the expo.
