GALLERY: Honeyridge Baptist Church hosts their first Living Nativity

RANDPARK RIDGE – Honeyridge Baptist Church is transformed into the city of Bethlehem to tell the story of the birth of Jesus.

Honeyridge Baptist Church hosted a walk-through Living Nativity on 4 to 6 December.

Members of the church, guests and community members were invited to come and experience the Christmas story in a whole new way. Real-life characters made the story of the birth of Jesus come to life on three nights of magical Christmas stories. The stories were told by narrators and the actual characters.

Honeyridge Baptist Church in Randpark Ridge was transformed into the town of Bethlehem which had actual live animals such as sheep and donkeys, and the smells made the story seem more real. Thirty-minute tours were given where guests went though a market with potters, blacksmiths, bakers, jewellers and so many other exciting scenes that brought the story of the birth of Jesus to life.

The tour ended with Christmas carols in the main church hall where the Honeyridge Baptist Church gave a stunning performance.

No less than 1 900 guests attended over the three days, “It went better than we expected and we are very happy about the outcome,” said Honeyridge Baptist Church secretary to the pastors, Louise de la Rey.
