• Celeste Ntuli at Gold Reef City

Make your way to a comedy feast to remember, on 28 August at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City as Celeste Ntuli brings down the roof. Celeste Ntuli is a South African Film and Television Award and Royalty Soapie Award nominee. Ntuli will be performing her popular stand-up show, Home Affairs 2.

•Tweak announces 10th Anniversary tour dates

Tweak, South Africa’s favourite band from the late ’90s, kicks off their once-off 10th anniversary tour in August with a series of shows across Johannesburg and Cape Town. The band recently reformed for a once-off single. Catch them on 14 August at the Weltevreden Park’s Rumours Lounge at 9pm.

• Die Sterre show

Die Sterre music festival is bringing together a collaboration of well-known and rising stars in the Afrikaans music genre at the Globe in Silverstar Casino on 15 August at 8pm. Die Sterre will be showcasing their individual music along with collaborative melodies.The event features the likes of Kurt Darren, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Jay, Charlize Berg and Joseph Clark.

•Thank You for the Music, A tribute to Abba, Bee Gees and Queen

Abba, Queen and The Bee Gees are three of the most influential pop and rock groups of all time. Make your way to the Barnyard Theatre Production at Emperors Palace to witness their performances. The event started on 21 July and will end on 30 August 2015. Entrance fee: R100. You can also buy one and get one free on certain shows on 18 and 25 August.

•Always And Forever, A Tribute To Luther Vandross

If you are a Luther Vandross fan, then make your way to the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on 14 August at 8pm. The king of romantic ballads will be celebrated by SA’s own Timothy Moloi. He, however, will be backed by some of South Africa’s best vocalists and musicians, the audience will enjoy the unforgettable hits of Vandross which include Always and Forever, Power of Love, Dance with my Father and many more. Tickets are available online from Computicket, prices range between R140 and R325.

•Once Upon a song

Once upon a song – is coming to the Roodepoort Theatre on 19 August until 21 August. The story is about a beautiful and most hugely talented teenager, who is put down and manipulated by her emotionally abusive step-mother. Tickets range from R40 to R170.
