Local young talent shines in the USA

CONSTANTIA KLOOF – Nine-year old shines and dazzles at an international convention.

Constantia Kloof resident Mia Marais is still beaming after a stunning performance before international talent scouts in Florida, US.

The nine-year old was part of the Actors, Models and Talents for Christ (AMTC) convention held and is a platform to showcase international talent. Marais joined 20 South Africans that took part in the Shine Winter 2015 event.

The Laerskool Fairland pupil took part in different categories during the convention, showing off her artistic talent in singing, television presenting, product endorsement, acting, photography and child fashion runway.

The event allows participants to show off their talents in different artistic roles for industry giants including VH1, Disney, Sony Entertainment and Elite Models.

“Mia did very well during the various showcases. The environment was a bit intimidating because there were 780 participants from around the world,” said her proud mother, Elisma Marais. “She handled herself really well under pressure, particularly with the stand-up acting where they did not have a script.”
