I suddenly wondered why we count the days before Christmas? Maybe it’s because we can go on leave for a few days, or the many presents we expect? I honestly don’t know, but I guess it is why it is called the silly season.

People spend all their money on buying expensive gifts, they forget to save for the year to come. Regardless of the reasons, it is clear that everybody is in a good mood and cannot wait to officially go on leave.

Before we also close the office for the last time this year, I would like to remind you to, should something happen and you feel it is newsworthy, please call me on 082 324 8275. I will be available until 24 December.

From there, feel free to contact reporter Sonwabile Antonie, Sony for short, on 078 025 8857. He is on duty until 2 January. This is to ensure that the website, Twitter and facebook is updated on a daily basis with news from the area.

We will try to focus on crime trends, Christmas ideas and anything else. But as usual we would like your input.
Let us know what you got for Christmas, did you like your present, what you are planning for the New Year, your resolutions and plans. You are as much a part of our online media as we are.

But please, take it easy on the roads, be careful when driving at night and refrain from driving under the influence.
The offices will again open on 5 January.
Until next year, take care of one another.
Ciao
