If you type the name ‘Jeremy Meeks’ into your search engine, you will have to look no further than the first entry to learn about this bizarre story.
Mr Meeks was arrested and charged with illegal gun possession and gang-related crimes. The arresting police department uploaded his mug shot to Facebook which led to a big portion of the global population losing their minds.
Now, normally when a criminal’s picture hits social media, there is public outcry and petitions to increase the severity of the offenders sentence et cetera. Not this time. Mr Meeks, attracted so much positive feedback that people are calling for him to be freed. His advantage? Being extremely attractive and/ or photogenic.
This immediately raises the question, “has the human race gone insane?”.
They are calling for a suspected criminal to be freed based on his looks… crazy.
Whether he is guilty or not, how do you justify letting a suspect go based the fact that he is attractive? Life for me ceased to make sense after discovering this story.
If he had been charged with hurting your loved one, would you have reacted the same?
Before I attract any sexist comments to this post, I need to state on the record that the positive feedback and calls for his freedom is from both male and female.
