New Brazil Soccer School opens in Ruimsig

RANDPARK RIDGE - Brazil Soccer School is launching a new soccer school in Ruimsig on the 11 June.

There is finally hope for South Africans who are fed up with the current state of local soccer and not qualifying for the World Cup.

Brazilian Soccer School, one of the most popular soccer initiatives, will launch a new school in Ruimsig on 11 June.

Shannon Allan who is the head coach of the Brazilian School in Randpark Ridge is adamant about grooming youngsters and teaching them techniques on how to play soccer.

According to Allan, the new soccer school aims to empower youngsters and give them techniques that they can use in the future to strengthen the current state of football in the country. “In South Africa there is no skills development, skills are limited and I want to change that.We take children from all walks of life; children who are four to 13 years old and we build their confidence,” said Allan.

The Brazil Soccer School will give soccer-mad youngsters of all ability levels the chance to learn to play the Brazilian way with the qualified coach employing the same training philosophies.

“It is all skill-based. We teach children how to play the game, and we teach children how to handle the ball and how to balance it,” he explained.

Allan mentioned that although they teach children soccer skills, they do not classify themselves as a soccer club.

“If children love soccer and they want to learn more, we are there to train them, we only play internally. They come to us and then we give them the necessary skills.”

The Brazilian School also gives disadvantaged youngsters opportunities to learn more about soccer – for every four paying members the school brings in one disadvantaged child.

“We try to give disadvantaged youngsters opportunities by training them for free and giving them free kit.”

When asked if he would consider being the national coach, Allan said confidently that he rather enjoys grooming children from a young age.
