The DA is currently in the lead in two Gauteng cities, namely Pretoria and Midvaal.
ANC is in the lead of the rest of the province except for the City of Johannesburg, a city the DA wishes to call their own.
No results are yet available for the City of Johannesburg. Just after 10am, the ANC had between 50 and 70 per cent of the majority vote in Randfontein, Westonaria, Mogale City, Merafong City, Emfuleni, Ekurhuleni and Lesedi. The DA dominated the Tshwane Metro with 52.35 per cent of the votes and Midvaal with 50.8 per cent of the votes.
The ultimate deciding factor for dominance in this province would be the City of Johannesburg.
