Wednesday 14 May

Chicago’s Piano Bar in Randpark Ridge brings residents a Best of the Blues night every Wednesday. Come experience brass at its best! Redhand will keep you toe-tapping all evening, so bring your friends and enjoy this free show. It commences at 6pm at Chicago’s Piano Bar in the Honey Crest Shopping Centre at the corner of Beyers Naudé Drive and Duiker Avenue. Wednesday 14 May

Open up your ears and mind to the youngest sounds of Roodepoort at the My Band Project at the Roodepoort Theatre. The project takes six youth bands and DJs between 16 and 29 years of age and puts them into a programme to educate them about the music industry. Each band or DJ will do one performance where they will be provided with the venue and marketing at no cost. Prizes include a cash prize, a demo recording with Shaw Music Studios and the Roodepoort Theatre’s Basement Theatre as the band’s home venue for performances. Thursday 15 May

Enjoy classic rock and pop with Michael Ferguson at the Chicago’s Piano Bar in Randpark Ridge. Micheal often is described as having a generation’s worth of musical influence, years of performance experience and a passionate drive to become a world-renowned artist. The show is free of charge and starts at 7pm at Chicago’s Piano Bar in the Honey Crest Shopping Centre at the corner of Beyers Naudé Drive and Duiker Avenue. Friday 16 May

If you long for the 70s or find yourself wishing you were alive then, go to Chicago’s Piano Bar in Randpark Ridge to enjoy an evening of 70s style music. DJ Tony and Disco Mike will start the party from 4pm. Live band GAP and Cedric Wessels will take over entertainment from 8pm. Entrance is free of charge. Saturday 17 May

Swiss-based melodic heavy metal extraordinaires Dreamshade will be performing live in South Africa. Dreamshade has been shredding through stages across Europe and the United States in promotion of their highly acclaimed latest release, The Gift of Life. Their music reminds of In Flames, Soilwork, Killswitch Engage and All That Remains. They will be supported by newcomers The Drift throughout their tour, and will be performing at Rumours Lounge in Weltevreden Park. Tickets are on sale nationwide through Computicket and cost R120 per person. The show starts at 9pm.
