SA’s top rockers release anticipated single

Local act enjoys international attention.

Shortly after claiming the number one position on Reverbnation’s rock charts for South Africa, Nova Rise released their latest single, Freedom of Goodbye — and the public responded well.

The single brought the band to over 10 000 likes on Facebook and their attractive lyric video uploaded to Youtube received over 3 000 views in just three days.

Although the track was penned locally by Nova Rise‘s Christian Heath (vocalist and lyricist) and Sevven (drummer and keys), the final product was finalised abroad, Hollywood to be exact.

Freedom of Goodbye is one of the tracks produced by internationally acclaimed producer Mike Gonsolin (DJ Lethal, Paris Hilton, Cisco and Shwayze to name but a few) and his influence is evident.

Since Nova Rise‘s time with Gonsolin, their music adopted a more electronic sound without compromising their usual solid rock tone.

This shift gave birth to the fresh rock talent that a rock-starved population had been waiting for.

Discussing the concept of Freedom of Goodbye, Heath explains that saying goodbye does not always carry a negative connotation.

“Friends and family say goodbye all the time and it doesn’t always have to be seen negatively,” explains Heath.

“The best example for this would be that if a relationship is simply not working out, saying goodbye would be the better option than ripping each other apart when they don’t necessarily mean to.”

For the time being, fans can enjoy Freedom of Goodbye on Youtube and on the official Nova Rise Reverbnation account, but they have a stack of exciting surprises lined up for the near future. This includes a collaboration jam-packed with rich African influence.

As for live performances, fans will have to wait until next year to experience the band’s melodic perfection on stage. Nova Rise is currently rehearsing to deliver their live set, but fans can keep a close eye on their website www.Nova-Rise.com as well as their Facebook and Reverbnation profiles for all the latest updates. Additionally, follow Nova Rise on twitter.

Nova Rise can best be compared to the likes of Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars, but make no mistake, they ooze originality.
