My Pet’s Day Out – 1 November

A social event for pets and their owners, My Pet’s Day Out promises to be one of fun, laughter and of course wagging tails. The event will be facilitated by Mix FM presenter and popular personality Roxy Blows. Featuring a wide variety of great entertainment, My Pet’s Day Out will include prize giveaways at various intervals during the day as well as the dazzling Independence Dance Show at 10:15.

As part of the event’s fun and entertainment, four separate competitions will be held on the commons for proud dog owners, including the Best Handler competition, the Fancy Dress competition, Golden Oldies, and a Grand Prix Competition.

Registration for these events will take place between 9am and 10am, and will require a R10 entry fee per dog which will be donated to Cats Cradle in Kwa-Zulu Natal, the Lucky Lucy Foundation in Cape Town and Woodrock Animal Rescue in Johannesburg.

Simple Minds – 1 and 2 November

Scottish rock band Simple Minds will rock Gauteng this weekend. Over its thirty year career the band has scored a string of hit singles, including Don’t You and Alive and Kicking, and is regarded as one of the most phenomenal live acts around. Not to be missed.

Nataniël in Concert  1 and 2 November

South Africa’s much-loved actor, singer, playwright and author Nataniël will perform music created with his own pen, including jazz songs and ballads, as well as covers and anthems, with the Charl du Plessis Trio.

4th Annual Latin Community Festival – 3 November

Celebrando Latino Americano is a cultural feast of live entertainment celebrating Latin Heritage Month, featuring ten Latin cuisines including Brazilian, Cuban, Argentine, Bolivian, Peruvian, Colombian, Venezuelan, Mexican, Spanish, and Chilean. Halal, Kosher and vegetarian options are available. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a taste of South America!
